This is a traditional Cappadocian arched
stone room. The ceiling is vaulted. You enter the room
through a small hall, where there’s a built-in wardrobe. In
the room there’s a bed with a brass bedstead. The quilts and
claret-red satin sheets and the lacework are in the
traditional Ottoman style. As you sit on the sofa to relax,
and you look out of the window at the walnut tree defying
the years, you may see the tortoises, Rosa and Behcet, in
what we call the tortoise garden. You can actually reach
bunches of Cappadocia grapes. As you sip your coffee in the
morning, you can listen to the song of the Hoopoe birds.
Among other items completing the decoration are Turkish rugs
of various periods, antique plates, ceramic work made by
renowned artisans, and embroidery work. The bathroom is
specially decorated, and it has a shower system that you
have never seen before. The restoration work has been
achieved without changing the genuine architectural
structure, and the traces of the past are there as they have
always been.
