PRIVATE CAPPADOCIA TOURS
(Sample Programs)
CAPPADOCIA COMPLETE
We start by visiting the Goreme open-air museum, a
UNESCO world heritage, to view some of the fascinating
frescoed and rock carved churches. We proceed to visit the
historic village of
Cavusin, followed by a stroll among the majestic fairy
chimneys of Pasabag. We then continue to
Sarihan, a 13th century Seljuk caravanserai, which has
been very authentically and beautifully restored. From here we
continue to the town of
Avanos, which is renowned mainly for its pottery work.
After a stop for lunch, we visit the famous pottery artisans in
their traditional rock carved workshops. We will enjoy the
panoramic view of
Goreme before returning to the hotel.
REMOTE CANYONS
We
start travelling across the fertile plains of Cappadocia,
passing through several villages and come to one of the largest
and most fascinating multilevel underground cities, named
Kaymakli. Kaymakli is considered a unique feature of this
region. Then we proceed to
Guzelyurt (Gelveri), hometown of St. Gregory Nazianzen.
We take a little tour of this very authentic Turkish village.
After having lunch, we finally go down into the sheer-sided
canyon of Ihlara. This deep canyon is quite lush and a stream
runs through it. All the way and on both sides are rock hewn
churches. We enjoy a very pleasant and easy 4 Km hike through
the
Ihlara canyon and we arrive in the Belisirma
village, a very authentic and unspoiled village. We then leave
for
Selime to visit this surreal ancient monastic site and
several rock hewn churches. After we return to the hotel.
ROCKS & RUINS
We start by a visit to the Pegion valley. Then we go on,
passing through typical Anatolian villages such as Ayvali and
Mazi we finally arrive in the
Soganlı Valley with its many Byzantine period rock tombs. We
will enjoy a leisurely hike and explore the Armenian
architectural style rock carved churches and monastery ruins.
This valley is also known as the ‘Valley of Dolls’. After having
lunch in the village, we continue on our way, passing through
the village of Sahinefendi, and visiting
Sobessos, the rather recently discovered late Roman site,
featuring incredible mosaic work. We proceed and pass by
Taskinpasa Caravanserai, which now serves as the village
library and features a wonderfully carved stone gate. The next
stop will be the
Byzantine Keslik Monastery. We continue with arrival in
Mustafa Pasha (Sinasos), renowned for its excellent
Ottoman and Greek architecture. We shall also visit the very
first church that was constructed by the Ottomans for the
Christian community. After an easygoing stroll and exploring
this village, we will proceed to Urgüp to explore this ancient
town. Then stop to see the famous fairy chimneys “three
beauties” on the way to our hotel.
ACTIVITIES
CROSS
GOLF
Cross Golf was concepted by Indigo Tourism in 2009. Cross Golf
dispenses with manicured lawns, sandy bunkers, a strict dress code
and regulations and makes for a more adventurous game. In this new
golf game, the bush and fields are the fairways and fairy chimneys,
cliffs, trees and grape vines are the obstacles to navigate. Cross
Golf takes young and old on an energetic walk through Turkey's most
famous national park, so recognised by UNESCO and it is one of the
significant examples of “Responsible Tourism” concept in our country.

BALLOON FLIGHTS
One of the most exciting ways to experience the unique landscape and
habitation of Cappadocia is to take a hot air balloon trip. Indeed,
this is one of the most exhilarating balloon trips found anywhere in
the world. Comfortable, quiet, and serene, this balloon adventure is
a wonderful way to see the unique landscape as well as peek into the
start of daily lives on the ground. This is an experience of a
lifetime.
HORSE RIDING
Experience the incredible and unusual beauty of Turkey's Cappadocia
region from the back of a horse. Something like a cross between the
Grand Canyon and a moonscape, Cappadocia boasts some of the worlds
most unusual and spectacular landscapes. Traversing the countless
valleys and mountains by horseback brings riders in touch with the
area's breathtaking beauty.
MORNING WALKING
Your guide will be Omer Tosun (the owner of the Museum Hotel) and
his dog Jazz ( a Golden Retriever). We kindly ask 10 Euro (minimum)
per person for this lovely morning activity that you can explore the
beautiful valleys of Cappadocia (Pigeon or White Valley). The amount
that is collected goes directly to our Local Children’s Charity!
WHIRLING DERVISHES CEREMONY (SEMA)
Sema is the inspiration of Mevlânâ Celâleddin-i Rumî (1207 - 1273)
as well as part of Turkish custom, history, beliefs and culture. It
symbolizes in seven parts the different meanings of a mystic cycle
to perfection (Ascension - Mirac). Contemporary science definitely
confirms that the fundamental condition of our existence is to
revolve... It’s going to be an unforgetable experience to witness
Anatolian Sufi traditions with the whirling dervishes which became
more popular in the world after UNESCO declared 2007 the year of
Mevlana is organized in the most historical places with the special
light effects and more…
